Codec issue playing back?

Hey!

I don’t know if this is the right place to ask but I assume you guys would at least know.

I ripped a blu ray to my computer, it was successful. However, when playing it back on my computer directly from the file, I get no audio. Playing it through Plex or jellyfin works fine - so that leads me to believe I’m missing a codec or something on my computer to play it directly, but I’ve no idea how to find what codec it needs otherwise I’d grab it. Anyone able to point me in the correct direction?

Windows 11 for what it’s worth

Depends on the computer and program. If Plex can play it, you have the audio track, but the player you use on the computer may not play that audio, OR be pointed at a different track.

MediaInfo can tell you a lot of details about your media files, including what format the audio is in for this particular file.

You could also try using a player like VLC to play the file on your computer. VLC has wide support for audio formats by default.
