i'm refurbishing a laptop, but thought it would be nice to have a blu ray reader/writer in the laptop. i see a few on ebay, they are slim drives but i'm not very knowledge on blu ray drives, laptop ones specifically. is there a preferred laptop drive to use? i know external is an option, but i would like to install a blu ray drive on the laptop for portability. Thanks.

"In" the laptop depends on WHICH laptop, because you are limited by the size of the hole. There are several sizes of "internal" drives, depending on the height, depth, and external edge.

You cannot, for example, put a taller drive in one of the minimum height laptops.

So, what's the target?
