Just got this disc from Prime Day. It looks like all of the cartoons on each disk are within one title. Is there anyway to break them out to their individual titles?

Is there a way to have makemkv not auto select the subtitles?

Yes, using a configuration file, such as used for such things. Actually, you don't need to load one, but you need to change the default to disable selection of subtitles.

When I rip these discs, I am getting commentary audio on the cartoons. I see no other audio tracks on the MakeMKV rips. However, when I play it in the set-top player for the TV, I have the opportunity to play with audio commentary, or not.

How Do I get the commentary audio off these files, so I may add it to my Plex server?

TIA

If you tell MakeMKV to only rip the "best" track, often older movies and series will get commentary instead of dialog. A 5.1 commentary is better than a 2.0 stereo track, right?

Without seeing your configuration, I cannot make a solid recommendation on what to change. I have a custom configuration that uses:

Code: Select all

-sel:all,+sel:(favlang|nolang),-sel:mvcvideo,=100:all,-10:favlang
for track selection, which puts a priority on English in my setup, but rips all tracks found.

You have to enable Expert mode in the Preferences->General tab to get access to the selection rule, though.

Here are my configuration setup,
Ryzen 9 3900X
32 GB RAM
Linux 19.3
MakeMKV v 1.17.3 x64

I do have my settings set at Expert mode, and I went into Preferences->General tab, but I don't see anyplace that offers the selection rule. I am new to this, (4 years learning Linux) and I am eager to learn.

Also thank you for you speedy reply!

The selection settings are under Advanced, which won't appear unless enabled in the General tab.

That is exactly what mine is set to as well.

My output file name template is:

{NAME1}{-:CMNT1}{-:DT}{title:+DFLT}{_t:N2}
