Avengers Age of Ultron

Post by the_old_boomer »

Hi,

I've been trying to load my Avengers Age of Ultron bluray onto my media server, but I've been getting the read error problems. I've had this come up with a number of disks actually. I've seen the other posts about read errors and making sure to clean the disk, etc., but that hasn't helped. I've been trying different approaches to see if I could figure out a way to extract the movie. I haven't had any luck, but I've noticed that I can just copy the files from the bluray to my computer. The copy seems to work fine. When I try to open those files with makemkv though, I get the unknown key error like below:
Opening files on harddrive at C:/Users/xxx/Videos/backup/MARVELS_AVENGERS_AGE_OF_ULTRON
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Saved AACS dump file as C:\Users\xxx/.MakeMKV/MKB_v47_MARVEL'S_AVENGERS-_AGE_OF_ULTRON_-_BLU-RAY_4F98.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

I mostly tried copying the files to see if it would give me read errors during that copy process, but it didn't. Can I make use of this in some way? Is there a way to supply the key so the files can be decrypted? I seen some other posts in the form about this error, but they seem dated at this point, so not sure if they are still applicable.

What do other people do when they encounter the read error problem? Is there some cleverness that can be done to work around that?

Thanks!

Depends did you use the backup function of makemkv or did you just copy them in the file explorer?

I've tried a few ways. I did try to use the backup feature (with and without decrypt checked) in MakeMKV, but it always gives me something like this:
Backing up disc into folder "C:/Users/Neal A Day/Videos/AVENGERS_INFINITY_WAR"
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00801.m2ts' at offset '20383660032'
Failed to save title /BDMV/STREAM/00801.m2ts to file C:/Users/xxx/Videos/AVENGERS_INFINITY_WAR/BDMV/STREAM/00801.m2ts
Encountered 21 errors of type 'Read Error' - see http://www.makemkv.com/errors/read/
Backup done but 1 files failed hash check

For the scenario in my earlier post, that copy was done with File Explorer. Just a copy of the drive and paste to my computer. Since the files seemed to have copied fine that way, I was wondering if there was a way to add the key in somehow.

I have several disks like this. They play fine, but I can't seem to get them onto my media server. It be nice if there was some option to ignore read errors.

File explorer copy is useless nothing can decrypt it.
It's double encrypted from the drives buss encryption and from the movies company those added together have completely changed it so the real key will not work now.
