I am getting these weird error codes

Post by manfromtheearth »

I have a collection of 5 BD discs, which I first copied to a hard drive. I can extract MKV without issues from the first and third, but with the second I get an error with weird codes in the log. I think the important parts are the weird DEBUG codes but I include all the logs just in case.

Maybe you know what this means?

Edit: When playing the index.bdmv on VLC and reaching that file, it plays it at the few random timestamps I have tried, although I haven't seen it thoroughly yet.

The errors about writing too fast for your drives isn't of critical importance. The ones with DEBUG in front of them usually indicate problems with reading the disk. I'd try cleaning the disk again.

I only have a folder with the disc images, I don't have the disc anymore. I guess some file is corrupted? If so, is there any way to correct it? As far as I have tried, VLC can play the index.bdmv and at least most of the video is playable (I haven't tested it thoroughly). So theoretically, it should be possible to salvage at least most of the video. What tool should I use for that?

I cannot say what happens with disk images, rather than disks themselves. I have not tried that. That would explain the fast read causing "reads faster than it can write" errors. :)

Unfortunately, that does mean you're stuck with whether or not MakeMKV can read the image... It's going to come up with the same output no matter how many times you try running it. No way to get the original disks back?
