Parks and Rec - Missing keys?

I just tried ripping the Parks and Recreation bluray discs, and got an error message about the disc using a newer version of AACS protection and the decryption key being unknown. This came out maybe six months ago, so finding out that MakeMKV doesn't have the keys for the disc was a surprise. There are also a LOT of discs—it's a seven-season show. Am I going to have to send MakeMKV a new "AACS dump file" for each disc?

Thanks for your help!

What version of MakeMKV? Do you have a LibreDrive-capable drive?

I'm on MakeMKV 1.16.5 on an M1 Mac. My BD drive's LibreDrive status is "Possible (with patched firmware)."

I found a forum post last night on how to flash LibreDrive firmware on a Mac, so I assume doing that is my next step, but it's definitely more Terminal work than I've done in a long, long time. (I used Terminal to flash a new ROM on an Android phone several years ago, but I found really hand-hold-y directions.)

this only is needed if the discs are UHD are they?

They are not UHD. Thanks for the tip. I thought the error I was getting ripping might be because of the note MakeMKV was giving me about AACS versions, and that LibreDrive would let me bypass the AACS issues. Any other tips?

Nope if it's a new aacs you will just have to wait untill makemkv supports it but also you drive may not be able to rip any discs

I've ripped a couple hundred BDs on this drive so far. Are you saying that now that I've tried to read a disc with a newer AACS, my drive might not rip anything anymore?

If your drive still hasn't been flashed, you are limited by the drive's revocation table, which is updated when you insert a disk. That's what AACS does as the drive level - once a AACS key is revoked, it's revoked for ALL Bluray content. MakeMKV needs to get a new key when that happens.

LibreDrive puts the drive into a mode that doesn't care about things like revocation tables.

Update: I flashed the LibreDrive firmware for my drive (LG BD-RE WP50NB40) and the discs are reading/ripping great so far. I'm guessing, though, that just because my drive was LibreDrive compatible doesn't mean it's also UHD compatible, right?
