Dead in the water…

Post by Jmeans »

First off I’m new to this forum and to issues using MakeMkV. Been using without problems for years. Sadly thinking running Windows 7 Ultimate may have caught up to me. Long story short is while trying to update the OS to 8.1, I managed to revert my ASUS BC-12B1ST ATA Device back to a windows sig driver of 2006. I tried updating firmware from the ASUS website but not having the original install disc to start from its not working. Tried to find this disc or product ISO file online but no luck either so decided to reach out here for any suggestions. I will say this, it will read the Blu-ray Disc but just will not rip it. When i began to notice the issue it only ripped occasionally, hit and miss and didn’t make sense. Thought it was the latest MakeMKV update so rolled it back but the damage ( whatever it was or whatever I did ) was done. The computer will barely update to anything current but hoping if I can manually install the Soecific ASUS drive firmware it can solve the ripping problem. Anyway if you think this firmware update would be the answer please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated and also a place to find one computable. Thanks in advance. Jim
