The Ring (2002) causes Make MKV to hang opening disc

I've bought two versions of The Ring (2002) disc. The first disc has a problem where it hangs part of the way ripping. Figured the disc may have been bad, so I ended up buying another disc from a different retailer. For this disc, MakeMKV is hanging when it is trying to open the disc. Cleaned the disc already and same result. Using an LG UHD compatible drive (WH16NS60) in an external NexStar DX enclosure.

Logs are attached, but I'll paste it here since it's not terribly big. It gives me an error that I have on the fly decryption software enabled, but I don't know what that could be referring to as I don't have any other related software running. No other disc has given me that error, only this disc.

003334:0508 It appears that you have on-the-fly decryption software enabled. MakeMKV should process discs with most sophisticated protections without help of any 3rd party decryption software. In addition MakeMKV works faster and more reliably when it decrypts data by itself. It is highly recommended to disable such software and restart the application.

Do you want to continue anyway (errors may follow) ?

Do you have something like AnyDVD running?

No. I don't have AnyDVD or any other disc ripping software, or similar even installed. However, I do have an update on the issue.

It turns out, MakeMKV wasn't hanging. It just took around 30-45 minutes to get past this one section of the disc. If I let it sit through the hang, after around 30 minutes it finishes opening the disc. Unfortunately it fails to rip the disc at the exact same moment each time, even with extensive cleaning of the disc. With some trial and error, I've found out that it's the audio track that is bad? The same issue happens in both discs I have, at the same point in the movie, and both only with the audio track. I am able to rip the video track successfully. I'm not sure what it is with the audio in these copies, but it's completely breaking it from being ripped, and even fails to play on an Xbox blu ray player!

I've tried using MakeMKV, VLC and making backup ISO rips of the disc itself, and it is some sort of CRC error, I'm assuming just in the audio track. Unfortunately I have no idea what I can really do to get the audio track off the disc at this point...

Any updates on this. I got this error also on a BR disk and it was ripping at 1.2X speed.

I know this is a really late response, but I was having a similar issue. When opening a blu ray disk (Harry Potter #2), it would hang at opening "Mosaic-1.png". But I noticed I had a java update available. So I updated Java, tried again and MakeMkv opened it successfully! IDK if this is a real fix something to try maybe :)
