The Ring (2002) causes Make MKV to hang opening disc
Posted: Thu Oct 15, 2020 12:49 am
I've bought two versions of The Ring (2002) disc. The first disc has a problem where it hangs part of the way ripping. Figured the disc may have been bad, so I ended up buying another disc from a different retailer. For this disc, MakeMKV is hanging when it is trying to open the disc. Cleaned the disc already and same result. Using an LG UHD compatible drive (WH16NS60) in an external NexStar DX enclosure.
Logs are attached, but I'll paste it here since it's not terribly big. It gives me an error that I have on the fly decryption software enabled, but I don't know what that could be referring to as I don't have any other related software running. No other disc has given me that error, only this disc.

003334:0508 It appears that you have on-the-fly decryption software enabled. MakeMKV should process discs with most sophisticated protections without help of any 3rd party decryption software. In addition MakeMKV works faster and more reliably when it decrypts data by itself. It is highly recommended to disable such software and restart the application.
Do you want to continue anyway (errors may follow) ?
