Transporter 3...fatal error but no message

Hi folks,

I just found out about makemkv today. First of all i gotta say that its by far the best bluray-to-mkv app that I found during my half day testing. It's easy and it does what it says.

So i got myself Transporter 1-3 as BD and started ripping them for my mede8er. I didn't encounter any problems with part 1+2...both the picture and sound are perfect.

However whenever I try to rip Transporter 3 it will do everything correctly up to the point when the progress bar freezes during the ripping process. The time will continue to add on, but nothing happens. No error message.

I saw that a few people in this forum are having the same problem with v.1.6.2.

Strange thing in my case is that my drive will continue to read the disc. If I try to abort the process via the "cancel" button then nothing happens. So I just have to close the program via the Windows button.

Another odd thing is that once I open makemkv again, it won't read the disc. So I have to reboot my machine. As soon as the Windows log-off screen says "shutting down" the loading circle freezes as well and I gotta physically shut down my computer via the power button.

Once I booted up Windows again I can't see my drive on the computer anymore. So I have to physically turn it off and on again to have it back in my devices list in Windows.

I've tried everything from: (1) giving it time to finish ripping; (2) cleaning the disc

Hopefully someone can gimme a hand solving these issues.

Here are my specs:

Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 15
i5 Dual Core 2.27GHz
4GB DDR3 Ram
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 545v (512GB DDR3)
Kingston SSD 128GB
Toshiba Samsung SH-B123 Bluray Drive 12x (external)

I'm trying to copy the disc with AnyDVD HD now and see if it works then. Will report results!

Hi!

Sounds like your system overheated.

Is your system overclocked?

Are all three discs commercial, pressed, Blu-ray discs?

Nope, nothing overclocked. Checked the temperatures as well and they're all sweet. Must be something else!

I guess you didn't see my second question, so I'll repeat it:

Are all three discs commercial, pressed, Blu-ray discs?

If not,you shouldn't presume that MakemKV (or any similar program) would process it/them properly...

HA ! ive actually beens scolded for suggesting this, I too tend to use AnyD*D to rip blu rays then use MAKEMKV, I own a serial for MAKEMKV, however I still feel its decrypting is its weaker feature, one NEEDS and arsenal of tools these days ...

glad you solved your issue even happier you proved my freakin point !

Yup I was stoked too when I found out that it worked...but you're absolutely right! Often you just gotta have more than one program...sadly

Please post the debug log. I find it very unlikely that MakeMKV couldn't process a disc but could process the same disc decrypted by other program.
