I am in process of copying a number of videos that I made on Blu Ray discs. In order to copy them I am using MakeMKV. I have quite a few. I notice that if the program I am trying to copy in on a normal Blu Ray disc the MakeMKV app seems to work fine. However, if the movie is on a 50 gb Blu Ray disc I always seem to get a message that the "Disc cannot be opened."

What do I need to do to copy these double density Blu Ray discs?

Please advise.

Is your drive BDXL-capable?

When you go over 25GB, you are into "dual layer" on BDs. Not all drives will read writable multi-layer disks.

Yes, it is the very same drive that I burned the 50 gb discs on. For some reason, it seems to be makemkv that will not read the discs.
