Rule of thumb: If it is distributed by Disney, the play list that has 800 in it is almost certainly the English version. The difference between it and other languages is in the title and credit sections of the movie.

This one is BlueSky and not a Disney. From what I can tell the opening and closing credits are the same on both of my rips.

It can also be things in the movie itself such as signs.

Ferdinand is Fox and, well, Fox is now Disney!

I played the movie back and watched it with Process Monitor

From that I got: 2800,2801,2802,2803,2804

2800: main film
2801: credits
2802: short mid-credit scene with the hedgehogs
2803: more credits
2804: post credits piracy guilt-trip

I played them side by side and found the difference. The 2800,2801,2802,2803,2804 map has the English voice actors listed in the credits. The 2806,...,2805 segment map has them removed. I would have seen that last night had I let them play a bit longer.

As 2800 & 2802 are common with both segment maps, it doesn't look like it really matters unless you are a credits enthusiast but "Source file name: 00800.mpls" with "Segment map: 2800,2801,2802,2803,2804" is the correct English playlist.

And Disney hasn't bought 21st Century Fox yet, but the deal should close this year if the anti-trust suits don't sink it.

Sounds complicated 8)
The more easy way is to backup the disc with decrypt option enabled. After this, open with MakeMKV the index file in the created backup. MakeMKV works now as reading from disc. Now go to the decrypted streams folder and view the segments with are different in the two oder more titles (MPLS). Find out what is the correct title (MPLS) and select the title in MakeMKV and create the mkv file. Because the content is already on harddisk, the build of mkv file completes very fast.

Awesome advice...I'm gonna have to try this. I know about the whole Disney numbering scheme but this is good info if the Disc is not Disney! Definitely will try next time I'm stuck or unsure.
