What's needed to backup 4K Blu-ray's?

I tried my first 4K backup today and am running into trouble. At first I got "the volume key is unknown" error and then trying it again I got media read errors. Does this require a different type of Blu-ray drive?

MakeMKV does not process UHD/4K Bluray at this time. In fact, no ripping software that you can download or buy can handle it.
There are people claiming to have broken the encryption on (at last report) 4 titles, but nothing concrete.

Lol! No doubt there is.... But this retarded forum software doesn't allow searches of anything under 4 characters AND it's not mentioned at all in the FAQ.... SO???? I had to post this redundant question.
