Anyone having trouble with The Boy (2016) like me?
I'm using the German BD and getting following errors.

Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive

After checking with several disks, it seems a to be a general problem.
I checked other posts here; does this look like a HW defect of my external BD drive?
Had anybody faced the same issue before?
I'm working on macOS 10.12.5

Can you rip DVDs? If DVDs work, but all BDs fail, it is possible that your drive has received a revocation of the current MakeMKV access key. This is actually quite rare, but it CAN happen with a new AACS version. MakeMKV can work with AACS up through version 62.

Read this for more information: /svq/

MakeMKV has to be able to read the directory of the disk to get the information necessary to send the decryption key, so any problem at the beginning of a scan can cascade into this error sequence. But that is usually just one disk; if you're having this with multiple BDs, it can point to a drive issue.

Yes, I can rip DVDs, but I'm not able to rip any BD at the moment. Even pretty old ones strike and all discs are clean and without a single scratch.
I tried to use a clean installed macOS and also Windows 10 with Boot Camp, but no success here.
With Windows 10 I used a free BD Player from Leawo, which had no Problem playing some BDs.
Unfortunately (?), the BD has a AACS of 61, so I thought it would work.
Next week, I will try to use my burner with another PC, to see, how it reacts.

In case my access key is revoked, what to do? Do I have to wait for a new version of MakeMKV or is there a way to get a new key from the supporting team?
Does a revoked key take influence on a new drive so I will get the same issue?

This reads like a classic case of AACS key revocation. The problem is, what triggered it? When a key is revoked, you need only put the disk in the drive for it to tell the drive to refuse that key in the future, which disables ALL BD reads, not just ones with AACS of a certain version.

What was the FIRST disk it refused to read with MakeMKV? Do you have any BDs that were purchased within the last month? MakeMKV keeps track of the latest AACS version it has seen (what is displayed in the log) by creating files in your MakeMKV data directory for the first disk of that version it saw, such as "MKB_v62_E&L_of_Grisaia_BD2.tgz". If you did not try to rip the "problem" disk, there would be no file to show for it, but the drive would be off-line.

The MakeMKV data directory can be found in Preferences->General, and is usually in your home directory on the Mac. If you attempted ripping the problem disk, email the resulting "MKB" file to svq@makemkv.com for Mike to analyze.

The disk, which triggered the revocation was The Boy. Before I ripped "Minions" without any trouble. But inserting "The Boy" and opening the disk with MakeMKV showed me the messages.

I have an update:
The drive I use ist a LG BE14NU40; now I bought the LG BE16NU50, which is working with ripping Blu-rays.
I tested my old drive again, to see if that changed something, but it didn't.

Meanwhile I received an answer to my mail, which says I can't use my burner until the next version of MakeMKV is released.
This will happen in some days. I will come back here, if there are more news about this.
