I am trying to rip a blu ray of Young Frankenstein but have been unsuccessful. I have been getting the following error codes but are unable to make sense of them:

Any advice on how to fix the error would be much appreciated!

First step with errors like this is to clean the disk - a little bit of film on the surface can cause exactly what you're seeing.

But that just the most likely cause.

I don't think this is the case... I am getting something like this...

It was on a single disk so not the drive... and the drive ran fine after on several... I tried to clean still got it... then I sent that DVD back as defective... Then I bought another copy from a totally different place and got the same error... I don't think it is the drive or the disk (at least not the disk in an intentional way)...

Maybe some kind of copy protection? or maybe a combination of the disk burn and that drive just not liking it.

I find it odd.

When errors occur at the SAME PLACE on different disks, it is most likely a manufacturing defect that affected a particular lot. I've had that happen with one DVD set - two different sets and even the Netflix copy had a defect at the same location. I eventually got around that with a different disk drive.

The hardware time-out messages could be that the drive is continuing to attempt to read the disk, while the operating system has already given up.

This topic was originally about a Track Following Error, which isn't the same as a read error. TFEs can RESULT from a read error, though.

Definitely Structure or Cell protection... on title one cell 8.

Sent it in... wonder why it can't handle it... Disk is old.
