Whats the best Blu-Ray Burner / Reader on the market today to backup a 3D or 2D library

As far as I know, none of the manufacturers of computer BD-ROMs update their firmware with any frequency. Therefore I am looking forward to responses to this question.

"Best" is always going to be subjective. I use LG brand BD drives, with 4 different readers in 3 different models, all internal, all full size. They seem to work with every BD I've bought so far, including the occasional 3D disks. Others like Sony and Samsung.

I don't run software that lets the drives update firmware, because usually that's bad... locking out things is the usual reason for a firmware update, unless a bug is really serious and affecting sales. It's bad enough that BDs include AACS to change the firmware.
