My Bloody Valentine and Daybreakers

MakeMKV 1.7.8 on Linux, Fedora 17. Here's the errors from the two Blu-ray discs. My Bloody Valentine would not rip at all, Daybreakers rpiied but with 6 DEBUG errors.

This error is linux and ffmpeg specific. Please try compiling MakeMKV's version ( http://www.makemkv.com/download/ffmpeg/ ... -1.7.8.tbz ) and see if it will work.

You are right, these errors only happen under Linux (Fedora 17 on a Toshiba A665 laptop). Under Windows 7, no errors.

I did, in fact, download mmffmpeg-src-1.7.8.tbz, and uncompressed it to a separate directory. I ran make, then pointed MakeMKV at the binary file ffmpeg that resulted. I did not run make install as I did not want to chance disturbing other installations.

Please see my post here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5275&p=23169#p23169. It was unclear from the instructions here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=224 what to do with ffmpeg, so I may have made an error. What should I have done differently?

I'm guessing that the MS Windows way of doing things, and the Mac way, and the Gnu/Linux way, are so very different from each other that there is lots of hair-pulling keeping a package up to date for all.

Thanks. You are, to my knowledge, the only one providing this functionality on Linux where obtaining said functionality does not involve a lot of pain.
