A physically damaged disc.

Old topic, same issue. I don't think the problem is physical damage though.
I'm currently ripping a brand new bought box from the tv-show Community and got the same issue at season 3.
But it's even weirder because I wanted to rip 6 episodes from that disc and it ripped all episodes except the first and the last.
I also tried ripping them manually but it always failed at the very end...

When I read that it'd probably be caused by physical damage I tried to watch it normally on my tv; no issues there with both episodes.
So as I said: brand new and no issues while playing.

Any other idea what might cause the problem?

Edit: I apologize; obviously I'm the kind of person who posts into a thread first and then reads through the basic FAQ...
After reading the basic FAQ regarding reading errors (https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15055) I carefully cleaned the dvd disc although it was brand new. But now it worked perfectly fine, so try this first in case you're experiencing the same problem.
