Kings speech error

Ok,
I'm pretty sure you are going to tell me its a dirty/damaged disc but here goes.

UK BD Kings speech, plays fine in my PS3, but i cannot rip or backup the disc it always fails with

Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:NO SEEK COMPLETE' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00019.m2ts' at offset '1729626112'

I have tried this in two different linux pc's with different bd drives. I had retries set at 50 and have cleaned the disc.

Yup.

You can try cleaning it with glasses cleaner and a microfiber cloth if you have one. If the disc is brand new there might be a slight film over the surface of the disc that is messing with the laser.
