Help On Connecting SATA Blue Rays To ASus Motherboard

Post by tmyc7 » Mon Nov 04, 2024 10:01 pm

I have a new motherboard. ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO. It only has 4 SATA ports. I need to connect 8 hard drives and my TWO DVD writers. I think my only option is SATA Card with 4 ports or more. Is there anyone out there that can advise me on what Card I can get? Or an Outside enclose via USB 3+ would work?

Thanks, this is my first to this forum. Hopefully I can contribute in the future.

Here is what is in my computer right now.
* Windows 10 and will get windows 11
* Asus Rog Maximus z690 Hero Eva Edition
* Intel i9 12900k Processor
*Corsair HX 1200i Power Supply
* (4 Sticks) G. Skill Trident Z5 RGB Series (Intel XMP 3.0) DDR Ram 32 GB (2x16) 6400MT/s CL32-39-39-102 1.40V Desktop Computer Memory UDIMM- Matte Black (F5-6400J3239G16GA2-TZ5RK)
* EVGA GEFORCE RTX 3060TI
* Western Digital WD-Black 2TB SN850X NVME (with operating System/Programs)
* I use the all the SATA Ports on the Z690 for HDD Storage Etc.
* Corsair Hydro Cooler X 3 Fan with ICUE.
