Playing BD+ Discs on VLC

Post by hilldoug750 » Fri Jun 21, 2024 2:21 am

I just started using MakeMKV and VLC to play my discs using the Blu-Ray Drive (LG WH16NS60) on my PC. Most discs work just fine, but whenever I put in any BD+ discs (Most Pre-2019 Fox Blu-Ray's) the menu and opening logos will play just fine, but after a few minutes into the movie I will get a bunch of colored pixelation. The funny part is, if I rip the movie from the disc, it will work just fine. I know a lot of you will say to just do that, but I don't have the space to rip all of my Fox Blu-Ray's, and some of them are collections (like the Rocky, James Bond, and Alien movies) that I don't want to spend all that time ripping before I watch them. Is there any way to watch these BD+ movies on VLC? Or any alternative programs that has no issue playing those BD+ movies?
