BD Ripping Help

Hello, I'm new to this.

2 questions:

If I want to rip my blu-rays, can it be done with this drive? Pioneer BDR-XD08UMB-S

If I flash the drive, will I be able to use all its other functions (other than ripping) normally?

Depends on the software installed. If it is after November of 2022, you will be locked out of being able to rip UHD disks. If that isn't an issue, no problem.

As for installing new software in it, you don't want to do that right now. Prior to the cut-off, it will be able to do UHD without change, and after the cut-off, you can't upgrade the software to make it do anything it couldn't do before.
