Unable to rip Inception

Post by ericnyc » Fri Mar 18, 2011 12:43 pm

Hi everyone. I was unable to rip Inception so I did a full disk backup as I figured might be requested. I will upload the debug log with both attempts (at the bottom).

Code: Select all

005076:0000 Hash check failed for file /BDMV/STREAM/00001.m2ts at offset 803923968, file is corrupt.
005076:0000 Hash check failed for file /BDMV/STREAM/00001.m2ts at offset 804120576, file is corrupt.
It's a bad disc.

Is it fair to say that whenever you get a hash check, it is a disk with a physical error?

Could be dirty; try cleaning it.

Well, it means that the file that was read from the disc is certainly corrupted. Content hash file is like md5sum file for each M2TS file. So yes, hashcheck error is either a bad disc or drive.
