An American Werewolf in Paris Blu Ray .... AACS Issues?
Hi...I have the latest version as of today. I am trying to rip the Blu Ray of An American Werewolf in Paris. It appears that the AACS version is not up to date enough to rip it.
What if anything do you need from me in order to determine the true cause of the issue?

What is the release date of this disk?
If this is a new version of AACS, there should have been a file created in your MakeMKV data directory, that starts with "MKB_v", and has the AACS version number, followed by the disk title. That file needs to be sent to svq@makemkv.com for analysis.
Your MakeMKV data directory is shown in Preferences->General.

Re: An American Werewolf in Paris Blu Ray .... AACS Issues?
This disc is released May 19th of this year.
Strangely enough, I do have a MKB_v file created, and it says 62. However, the disc in the name is for Miami Vice S4D1.
The reason why I thought it was in relation to AACS is because it's giving this error:
Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive
Highest AACS version is v62 , MKB saved as /Users/[mylogin]/.MakeMKV/MKB_v62_MIAMI_VICE_S4D1.tgz
I just sent off the file that you requested. If you need any additional info, please just let me know.

For fun, I deleted the Miami Vice disc (strangely enough, I was able to RIP that disc) and then attempt this disc. Sure enough, it created one for this disc. I will send that file as well.

How often do we see posts like this though and the user responds back with "never mind, was using a version of Makemkv from 1972" and I updated, all is good?

What part of "I am using the latest version as of today" do you not comprehend?Krawk wrote:How often do we see posts like this though and the user responds back with "never mind, was using a version of Makemkv from 1972" and I updated, all is good?

That email address goes to the program author, Mike, and he'll take a look at it. If he needs more information, he'll contact you directly.
Those of us on the forum..... well, we don't work for him, and he doesn't talk to us much.

An updated 1.10.7 was released today. I downloaded and attempted to use it. Unfortunately, it does not open the disc and gives the same error message.

Any updates on this? The newly released version also fails. I've sent in information, but no response. I'm not expecting an exact date, but at least an acknowledgment that the info was helpful and it's being looked into....

What exact errors are you getting? Since none of us saw what you sent to Mike in the way of logs, could you post the debug log in a reply (don't bother trying to attach it, just copy/paste the error messages in to your reply).

You asked what error message I'm getting...see above.
Re: An American Werewolf in Paris Blu Ray .... AACS Issues?
I'm referring to any information prior to that point. When a disk has an AACS version that is older than the version of MakeMKV knows about, NOT finding the key is usually because of read errors during the scan.
In your case, the scan says that the highest AACS version your installation has seen was v62, found on the disk "MIAMI_VICE_S4D1", and not American Werewolf. Which means that American Werewolf was either an older version, or something prevented MakeMKV from reading the part of the disk where the AACS information is stored.
