Can't read AACS Vid from disc

Hello,
I've been using makemkv for a good while now. I've encountered an error and don't know what to make of it.

I uninstalled Makemkv, deleted the .Makemkv user folder, downloaded the latest version and installed it.
Same problem.
Anyone knows what I need to do to fix this?

Two probable causes.

Cause 1: You are not running MakeMKV as an administrator, and it is being blocked from directly accessing the drive. If this is the issue, right-clicking on MakeMKV and selecting "run as administrator" should clear the problem up, and you can set the properties on the MakeMKV shortcut to always run as administrator in the future.

Cause 2: You have recently inserted a disk with AACS version 58 or higher, and it has revoked the AACS key used in MakeMKV.

If it's the second, you need to find the disk that caused the issue. Any BDs you've recently purchased that you have played, but not ripped yet? MakeMKV records the highest AACS it's seen, but a disk only needs to be loaded in the player for it to decide to not talk to MakeMKV later. DVDs will work, but NO BD will work now. But, if you try ripping the disk that caused the problem, MakeMKV will generate a link for reporting the new AACS to Mike for action.

Thanks for the quick reply, I greatly appreciate it.
I bought a used copy of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which won't rip. Seems to be a problem with the disc, probably scratches.
That would be the most recent I think.
Should I reflash my drive with the most recent firmware?

Yes, scratches can cause the issue, too, if they are near the center hub (start of the disk). If the start of the disk can't be read properly, the AACS exchange will be screwed up. Cleaning and perhaps waxing the disk can help.
