BDAV disc from recorder: "file system is not clean"

#1 Post by greenlight » Fri Apr 17, 2015 5:58 am

After seeing the latest version of MakeMKV fully supported BDAV discs I got excited and gave it a go. It saw the disc but upon opening it failed with the error "LIBMKV_TRACE: UDF mount: file system is not clean".

The disc used was a BD-RE DL disc created using a set top box DVR/BD recorder, burned with TV shows off the air. The recorder doesn't support finalising RE discs. The disc mounts fine in OS X and can be browsed with no problems.

I was able to successfully rip the same disc with DVDFab 9 (with the same equipment).
