American Hustle Forced Subs

I used MakeMKV with American Hustle, and it worked fine. The log is below. A tar file got created (v46) when I processed this BD. I did not send the tar file to support.

My question is about forced subtitles. American Hustle has a part about midway through where Robert DeNiro and another character speak in Arabic. When watching the BD, these show without making selections. When I used MakeMKV, I selected to create a forced subs track, but it was empty.

Any tips on this one please?

You probably have a single subtitle track which ONLY contains those "forced" subtitles, but they are NOT marked as "forced".

The use of the forced flag (which is what MakeMKV uses when you click "forced only" is actually rather rare. I only have one BD (Avatar) that "properly" uses the forced flag. Everything else uses a separate track, or burn the forced subtitles into the video.

Thanks Woodstock. This is resolved. I checked the resultant mkv, and the forced subs were included in the main subtitle track.

I did another post just after the OP where I attached a screen-shot of the sub tracks I had ticked. Once the mod checks it, it should get posted back here too.
