The Hobbit Extended Edition

Unable to successfully create mkv file using Mac. This is the error message:

Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:UNRECOVERED READ ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00024.m2ts' at offset '20103561216'

OSX is telling MakeMKV that part of the disk can't be read. Candidates for reasons are dirt, scratches, and manufacturing defects. Cleaning the disk is the first step.
