2001 A Space Odyssey BR

#1 Post by efithian » Mon Aug 15, 2011 3:55 pm

When ripping to mkv, Title 02 gives an error, saying that the m2ts file has length zero, even though the size is over 3 gb. The problem is that the video is a single frame and the rest is audio. It is over one hour in length and is an interview with a photographer for the film. If you do a backup of the disk, the file is 00049.m2ts. VLC will play this file. Handbrake can open the file and convert it to an mkv. Not sure how to extract just the audio. Perhaps mkvmerge can do it. Any ideas on the extraction of the audio?

Replying to my own post, mkvmerge handled the mkv file and extracted just the audio, making an mka file which was 110mb as opposed to over 3gb. The mka file plays fine in VLC.

Hi!

You could have just as easily loaded "0049.M2TS" into tsMuxer and simply demuxed the .AC3 audiostream...

Problem with 2001 A Space Odyssey BR and Dark Knight BR. Both product MKV files that I cannot play. Back up produces a m2ts file I can play with Nero Kwik but nothing else. Cannot convert either title to DVR-MS with DVRMSToolKit. Running .16 version. When trying the m2ts file from 2001 it produced spanish sound track and jumps and pixelated after opening (opens with 2:55 of music in black followed by MGM card which pixelates instead of fade out).

Hadn't tried Dark Knight before, but have had the 2001 problem for some time.
