Bit new to this so apologies if there's useful information missing. Been having a weird hiccup with a Bluey season 1-3 Blu-ray set I grabbed recently. Seemingly some titles are not parsing the English audio tracks and instead are reading duplicate French tracks laid out like so:
Code: Select all
Title information
Name: Bluey: Season One - The First Half (English)
Source file name: 00034.m2ts
Duration: 0:07:11
Size: 1.5 GB
Segment count: 1
Segment map: 34
File name: Bluey- Season One - The First Half_t26.mkv
Track information
Type: Audio
Name: Stereo (English)
Language: French
Codec: DTS-HD Master Audio
Channels: 2
Channel layout: stereo
Sample rate: 48000
Bits per sample: 24
Track information
Type: Audio
Flags: Core audio
Name: Stereo (English)
Language: French
Codec: DTS
Channels: 2
Channel layout: stereo
Sample rate: 48000
Track information
Type: Audio
Name: Stereo (English)
Language: French
Codec: DTS-HD Master Audio
Channels: 2
Channel layout: stereo
Sample rate: 48000
Bits per sample: 24
Track information
Type: Audio
Flags: Core audio

whereas other tracks properly report the 5.1 Surround English tracks. It's odd because on VLC it shows the English track but MakeMKV seemingly misses it.

If you listen to them are they actually French?
MakeMKV is just copying what's on the blu-ray. I have seen mislabeled audio tracks before. At some point in the authoring process for the disc a human being has to set the code to mark an audio track as one language or another, so it is possible that it is just an error on the disc.

I'm sorry, never got the ping for the response.
Yes, the tracks are entirely in French, English Subs. When put into hardware or played off a disc drive the English tracks appear and play properly but MakeMKV seems to only find the French tracks.

If you try ripping those titles and including all of the audio tracks in all the languages, are any of them English?
If none of them are, you could try making a decrypted backup of the disc (icon of yellow folder with green arrow on the first screen of MakeMKV) and then using something like
MKVToolNix GUI on the decrypted backup or specifically on the .m2ts file in question, <backup>/BDMV/STREAM/00034.m2ts. MKVToolNix can also create .mkv files.

No it'll only dump the french audio track regardless of the selected track. I'll give that shot thanks!
