Green line and jumping in Blu-Ray rips

#1 Post by rosede » Thu Jan 30, 2025 4:04 pm

I just built myself a new Win 11 machine and added in a Blu-Ray drive. I have the entire of "Planet of the Apes" legacy on BR and wanted to rip them. So far I've ripped the first three movies and all three have a green line and the video jumps all over the place.

I did a couple of other movies, one older like the Planet of the Apes, and one newer, and they both ripped fine. What would be the reason with the Planet of the Apes not ripping cleanly? Any suggestions?

Thanks

This seems to be a non-issue. When I first ripped the movies, I watched some of them on my PC, using VLC. This is where I observed the green line and video jumping around. I copied them out to my NAS and watched on my Kodi device. The picture looked great. Not sure why the video sucked on my local machine, but looked good over the network when playing on the big screen, but hey, all is good.

Thanks

I suppose if you machine was busy doing something in the background, it might impact VLC's ability to play a file cleanly.

I know on my computer, which is just barely fast enough to play a 4K rip, if anything is going on in the background, the playback will be choppy.
