I've been trying to rip my 3d Blu Rays to hard disc, so I can watch them using my Oculus Quest 2.
However, I've run into an odd problem with Disc 2 of the Titanic 3D Blu Ray.
MakeMKV gets read errors when I try to create a 3d MKV file from the disc, and it also errors out when I try to create a backup of the same disk. In the latter case, the error says "Backup done but 2 files failed hash check."
But here's the puzzling thing - If I just do a straight copy of the files from the Blu Ray to my hard drive, the files copy over without any errors.
Of course, MakeMKV is unable to read those files.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Problem With Ripping Titanic 3D-Blu Ray-Disc 2
Re: Problem With Ripping Titanic 3D-Blu Ray-Disc 2
Have you tried gently cleaning the disc?
MakeMKV makes sure that it has correctly read the data from the disc. The hashes that are built into the data on the disc are checked. This is unlike most other things that copy data; the straight copy of the files from the blu-ray to your hard drive did not do this hash checking. The checking to ensure that the copy is correct is what makes MakeMKV valuable.
