MakeMKV was working fine for the past two weeks. Suddenly every movie I try to rip is getting this message
Error 'OS error - {Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful' occurred while writing data to 'Z:/Plex/Shared Movies/blurays/~movie~.mkv' at offset '0'
Failed to save title 0 to file Z:/Plex/Shared Movies/blurays/~movie~.mkv
0 titles saved, 1 failed
I have tried uninstalling and rebooting but still same error. PLEASE HELP. I have a brand new LG external Bluray player that I've been using and all 15 discs that I've tried are clean with no scratches.
Bluray Failing to rip
Re: Bluray Failing to rip
Is the drive full? Do you have write permission for "Z:/Plex/Shared Movies/blurays/~movie~.mkv"? Is there an existing file by that same name that has attributes set to not be overwritten?
Those are the "most popular" things that the error points to.

Re: Bluray Failing to rip
Drive has 3T left. I’ve already ripped 42 movies to my external “z:” drive so I’m assuming I have permission. No existing file with that name. I’ve tried 15 other Blu-ray Discs and they are all doing the same thing.
Re: Bluray Failing to rip
How is your external drive powered? If it’s USB, it needs to be fully powered, or it can cut out while ripping.
Using: ASUS BW-16D1HT 3.00
Re: Bluray Failing to rip
It is USB, but why would it work fine for two weeks and now suddenly stop?
Re: Bluray Failing to rip
With a drive letter of Z, I'll assume this is a network drive. Did you try resetting the NAS?
Do you have room on the local drive to rip, then move to the NAS?

Re: Bluray Failing to rip
During my installs this week I saw this same error multiple times but only when using
(I think) the unpatched LibreDrive with a WD Elements USB3 drive.
I discovered after much testing the WD drive had gone faulty and would
also crash out during long copies - The drive works fine if I plug it into a USB2.0 socket
but cannot cope with USB 3.0 anymore. A surface scan and WD diag of the drive
reported no errors at all.
I assume the interface board inside the drive has gone faulty somehow.
It may be worth checking out anyway.

Re: Bluray Failing to rip
Thanks all! For whatever reason, it stopped recognizing the external drive. I can’t get it to work, so I’m just putting my movies on my C: drive and then moving them to the external from there.
