Strange color banding when Ripping Avatar

#1 Post by ingoldsby » Sun Dec 19, 2010 7:03 am

When I rip Avatar I get strange color issues throughout the video. Bands of what appear to be dropped colors come and go while playing the movie back. I've tried ripping with the current version of MakeMKV and the previous release as well. It is the initial Blu-Ray release of the movie, and the disc plays just fine when played with my PS3.

Has anyone else encountered this? I have a LiteOn blu-ray drive with the latest firmware installed. The movie played fine via the disc using PowerDVD as well - so it definitely appears to be something to do with the rip.

I see the video corruption when playing back via the boxee box and also with the latest version of VLC...

Hi!

Since you've already started a thread about this in another sub-forum here, you shouldn't duplicate it...

I have a Lite-On. I had no issues.
