Extra chapter added to rips

I'm having problems with a TV series, an entire season. When i rip the series to mkv all of the video files have an extra chapter at the end, kinda. In VLC player it appears to be a chapter but if i select it the video freezes. MKV seems to add about 5 minutes extra to each mkv file. I've tried multiple computers (windows and linux), different configurations, nothing seems to help. Playback of the source is fine. Logs dont appear to have anything useful
