Problems with 2 out of 4 discs (newer AACS Version? unknown volume key?)

#1 Post by nonameface » Fri Jun 26, 2020 5:56 am

Hi guys.

I've recently got a Blu-Ray from Korea (produktion date: April 2020). I was able to rip the dics 1 and 4 without running into any problems - but Make MKV can't open the discs 2 and 3.

- all 4 dics have the same AACS Version (v 76) and all get the warning for newer AACS Version - so I'm not sure if this is really the promblem

- on the discs I can't open I also get "The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted" - but these are the original discs (no copy or ISO) and they work just fine on my normal Blu-Ray player

- the only other thing I've noticed is the difference in the OS device name

Is there anything I could try to open and rip the two discs?

This seems to be an issue with AACS76. MakeMKV can decrypt some AACS76 titles and not others. Your example is a strange one with both types of discs in a single set. Anyway, submit the dumps to svq@makemkv.com and wait for the keys to be added manually.
