MakeMKV doesn't see blu-ray disc.
I put a blu-ray in the drive and a window pops up to watch it using various platforms. However, when I try to rip it with MakeMKV, it says there is no disc in the drive. I have tried 3 different blu-rays and get the same results. My son-in-law raves about this program and I'd love to try it. HELP!
Re: MakeMKV doesn't see blu-ray disc.
Guessing that you're running Windows 10 and have the October 2019 update installed, which defaults to disabling hardware access to programs not sold through the Windows Store. Or, you're trying to run it as a "normal user", rather than an administrator. Either one can make Windows hide the fact that there is a BD in the drive.
Search for "windows 10 ransomware exception" and you can find out how to tell Windows it's OK for MakeMKV to talk to the hardware.
