The following is my log. Not sure if anyone has any thoughts, but essentially the detect main title thing did not work again and I am not sure if this is the issue. (Running on Mac X.14.2)

Re: Error with JRE on bluRay Eighth grade
For anyone who happens upon this: Java-11 is not supported, install java8 instead and things work well.
If you are a mac/brew user:
brew cask uninstall java
brew cask install java8
Should do the trick.

Re: Error with JRE on bluRay Eighth grade
I had the same problem:
I didn't know there was any Java version limitation or requirement. Thanks for pointing this out. I don't think there was any need to uninstall the latest version and install an older version. I simply changed the blank line in MakeMKV preferences->Protection->Custom Java executable location to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java, the location of version 1.8.0.221, and that worked. Now I get no errors and I see extra title information that was missing before. I also installed the JDK 8 Update 221, which is actually java version "1.8.0_221", and that worked too. I entered /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_221.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java in the above-mentioned field and got the same results.
Code: Select all
Found java version=12.0.2 path=/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-12.0.2.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java
Found java version=1.8.0.221 path=/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java

Re: Error with JRE on bluRay Eighth grade
since Java 8 is no longer available in homebrew, use the following command to install the jdk instead.
then follow blurayfan2019's recommendation. works great.
Code: Select all
brew cask install adoptopenjdk/openjdk/adoptopenjdk8

Re: Error with JRE on bluRay Eighth grade
That's an interesting way to install it. Or you can get the pkg installer from Java Downloads for All Operating Systems. That's what I did. I install all updates from the command line since they often hang otherwise.
This prints out the path to the JDK, which was
You can avoid all this by looking at the MakeMKV log and copying and pasting the path of the JavaAppletPlugin, which in my case was.
Code: Select all
installer -verboseR -dumplog -pkg "path/to/JDK 8 Update 221.pkg" -target / -store
Code: Select all
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_221.jdk/Contents/Home/jre/bin/java
