First Blood

#1 Post by bokonon » Sat Jul 17, 2010 4:04 pm

First Blood BluRay fails. It reads the disc fine apparently but when I rip it it gets to 11 Megs or so and then it stops reading, no further errors in logfile, gives the error that the programm must exit.

Ouch. You do have "log debug messages" enabled in preferences and nothing is shown? Are you processing blu-ray disc?

Yes I have log debug messages shown. I checked Console and didn't see anything else logged. The app's spew didn't list anything either. Is there another log somewhere I can check?
thanks

Should work with latest version. If it doesn't please post the debug log.

from what i can tell it differs from disc to disc, most likley it is either a bad batch or it was pressed at a different location. I tried a copy from Netflix, thats the one I couldnt get to work, the other one was borrowed from a friend and worked fine. The problematic disc alll have the same symptoms.

I thought about trying it this way, but never did, try ripping it via DVDFAB then push it through HANDBRAKE, i bet that might work.

Unfortunately, I have a Mac and DVDFAB doesn't work on a Mac.

Please try to make a decrypted disc backup from this disc and see if any errors show up. It it works, try to open produced backup with MakeMKV.

MakeMKV_log.txt
OK, here's my debug list. Got a third copy of this blu today, fails exactly at the same place.

@MrTeagan

Hi!

Can you currently successfully process ANY Blu-rays - or are you experiencing this same problem with some or all of them?

Every title is fine except this one and other folks are having the same issue.
