Re: batman under the red hood only ripping at 480 not 1080 h
Are you sure you're looking at the right title?
MakeMKV does NOT have a video encoder built into it, so it cannot convert video from one resolution to another. Not all titles on a Bluray are guaranteed to be 1080p; a lot of BDs have extras and such are only DVD quality. Funimation and Sentai Filmworks only recently upgraded their embedded ads for their online services to 1080p.

Re: batman under the red hood only ripping at 480 not 1080 h
Yeah I double checked the back of it and it says 1080 and 5.1 but it's not doing it. When unload it into hand break I see its only at 480 also.. and have watched and it was definitely in HD with the surround sound...
Re: batman under the red hood only ripping at 480 not 1080 h
Watched the BD or watched the MKV file?
The MKV should be a copy of the video, unmodified. Watching it with something like VLC, which understands (almost) all video codecs used on BD, should show it to be 1080p. If it doesn't, that puts the onus on MakeMKV or the disk; if it does, it is more likely to be a handbrake issue.

Re: batman under the red hood only ripping at 480 not 1080 h
Same question, I wonder if it has to do with the new version of makemkv? It only shows one title so maybe the new version is hiding the obscurification. I've never seen this before.
Edit- After much frustration I figured it out. I thought at first AACS v60 had somehow soft-bricked my drive or something, or that the programs were just broken. The US purchased version of batman v superman wasn't the only issue it was ANY bluray. Welllll it turns out some setting in VLC had gotten mucked up. After a reset there life is peachy again, there was never any problem with the actual rip. In case anybody has this issue check your media player settings, turns out it was some form of hardware acceleration became glitchy after a driver update.
