I have encountered a couple of bluray classical music disc images downloaded as torrents that appear to generate a valid mkv file with what VLC claims have 1920x1080 video streams in them. The audio is fine, but the screen is just black.
The images are the Ole Bull Violin Concertos/Pieces and what I am fairly certain is the Mullova recording of the Beethoven and Mendelssohn Violin Concertos (neither of these torrents have a great deal of information in them, the latter torrent being nothing more than the BDMV directory). I have downloaded other bluray torrents like this that converted with no issue at all (Bach Brandenburg Concertos, Abbado; Beethoven Piano Concertos, Barenboim, et.al.).
Is there some setting in the program I need to change, a rare copy protection not factored into MakeMkv, or has the ripper not followed a correct method of ripping the disc image files despite the apparent generation of a completely black video stream in the file???
I also have another classical bluray image, a small image of a few gigabytes with Mozart's Piano Concerto No.25 and a few Piano Sonatas recording by Alfred Brendel (?) that appears to encode and then just craps out at the end of encoding with a simple can't save message (and leaves no file obviously).
No visible video in VLC playback, properties claim a track
