Need help very new to this

Post by Richard3000 »

Hello I need help I’m very new to this but I keep getting this error on a blu ray disc that used to work and I have no idea why

This is the error

Error 'OS error - The 1/0 device reported an I/O error' occurred while reading "\Device\CdRom 1' at offset '2164322304'
DEBUG: Code 3221225861 at T*66ml"9R%2H1-6CT:213131502

Does anyone know why ?

The error is much like the errors seen when a disk is spun faster than it has power to spin. Is this a USB drive?

It depends on the drive. Most that were cabled for USB1 or 2 hubs have a two-head cable. Both need to be plugged into independently-powered ports (usually on your computer, not on a "passive hub" without a power supply). If the hub HAS a power supply, you can plug both into it and it should work.

If the drive was intended for a USB3 port (which has better power reserves), then making sure you're plugged into a "blue port" should work.

Another alternative is to limit how fast the drive can spin, so it doesn't use too much power. That's usually done by making MakeMKV write to slower media, but that's a pain to do.
