Blu-Ray problem
Blu-Ray problem
So I ordered a 4K disc of Wall-E on Amazon and it came with a Blu-ray copy with bonus features alongside it. What's weird though is when I put it into the MKV program it recognizes the bonus features or at least one of them, but it doesn't recognize the movie at all and I've tried every method I can think of. I also tried To do it manually but I don't know how and there's no tutorials on how to do it really. So I'm mostly just seeing if people will respond so they can give me their ideas and how I can fix it cuz I would really appreciate any help.
Re: Blu-Ray problem
When you put the regular blu-ray in your drive and open it in MakeMKV, what does MakeMKV show?
Re: Blu-Ray problem
It shows the list of files. But not the movie. And the files it show are promotional and behind the scenes.

Re: Blu-Ray problem
Are you sure the blu-ray disc isn't just for the special features while the movie itself is on the UHD disc?
Cheers

Re: Blu-Ray problem
I'll double check. And if it isn't than that's what I call false advertising as it says for the blue ray disc. movie and bonus features on the case.
Re: Blu-Ray problem
Follow up to the previous one. Turns out it isn't on the disc at all. It's a special features disc even though it says on the case that it's the movie and special features. So man I feel like an idiot for wasting everyone's time. Well thanks for the help anyways. But man is that cruel putting it on the Case and saying it's the movie and bonus features only for to just be the bonus features and I'm pretty sure it is cuz I couldn't see the movie on there at all. It just looked like the bonus features so man is that stupid. But thanks! Everyone else for help was Much appreciated

It looks like there's supposed to 3 discs in the package. 1 4K UHD and two regular blu-rays. The 4K disc is the movie in 4K. I bet one of the discs is the movie in 1080p and the other is the special features.

Re: Blu-Ray problem
Yeah I found out shortly after that it turned out they put the discs right next to each other so it made it look like one disc. Everything worked out fine after that. Thanks for your help.
Re: Blu-Ray problem
4K Blu-rays sometimes use different structures or file systems, making it difficult for software like MakeMKV to recognize the main title. Update MakeMKV to the latest version from the official website. The program regularly releases new versions that address encryption issues. If the disc is heavily encrypted, you may need DumboFab which can help decrypt 4K discs before using MakeMKV.

For future reference, this seemingly AI generated comment is almost entirely incorrect.chrisking wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 2:39 am4K Blu-rays sometimes use different structures or file systems, making it difficult for software like MakeMKV to recognize the main title.
