Hello!
I have tried to rip the movie only to an MKV file, on Mac OS X. I always get an I/O error after a few minutes, though the error does not appear to be happening at the same place each time.
Thanks for any help that you can offer!
Best wishes,

Please try to do a full disc backup with MakeMKV and look for hashcheck errors.

Hi!
Hi!
By all means, do as "mike admin" has directed - but, based on your statement, I'd suggest you first try to clean the disc...the error does not appear to be happening at the same place each time.

Thank you for the replies!
The disc is brand new out of the package, not a mark on it, and plays perfectly on my Panasonic Blu-Ray player. I had tried to do the MakeMKV Backup yesterday; there was an error, but not a hashcheck error. (SCSI error, I think.) Sorry I didn't write down the result - when I tried again, apparently the temporary registration code expired because the UTC time rolled over into April 1st!
I'll try the backup again ASAP.
Thanks again,

After installing the new MakeMKV v1.6.6 and DASPI v1.2, the rip worked perfectly!
