MAKEMKV fails to convert slideshows

This disc:

Has a bonus feature called "Slideshow", which is usually not converted properly to Matroska and requires that we visit the original disc using a player for BD/1080p which can check menus and the sort (like PowerDVD).

Or it may be the case that MAKEMKV converts the slideshow into MKV, but one that is messed and displays all pictures in a split second, instead of just waiting X seconds for each one to be viewed.

For "Never Say Never Again" (1983) the slideshow lasts 3 minutes and 12 seconds. MAKEMKV failed to convert that way (so all photos being displayed very quickly in a few seconds).

But if we browse the m2ts from the slideshow we will be able to see it properly.

BDMV/STREAM shows that file 00117.m2ts has 28 MB and 3m12s.

If we use MKVTOOLNIX we may even convert to MKV and will be played/viewed properly.

All that means MAKEMKV is not doing its job 100% at least for this sort of extra feature if (and only if) it can be converted (I'd say 60-70% of the time it can't).

Thanks for pointing out a weakness in MakeMKV and a work around by using MKVTOOLNIX to convert the m2ts segment file into a properly timed MKV slideshow.

In a way you've also answered Damian83's question viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27614 on why MakeMKV is still beta - it's not perfect.

makemkv doesn't really follow the playlist timing. this is known, for discs that depends on playlist timing (including in/out) you can't use makemkv, you need to use mkvtoolnix.
