I recently snagged the new Supernatural box set, and when I got to processing season 6 the MKV appears corrupted. Every few seconds into the video artifacting appears (attached artifacting.png). The logs from the rip do not contain any errors that I could identify and look clean.
Additionally the MKV process occurred without formalized error, so I do not believe the disk itself is corrupted/scratched/etc. I attempted to play the disk in a blu-ray player and was able to watch without any artifacting issues.
I'm wondering if there's a decryption problem or some other copy protection that is causing the issue. I had this happen once long ago for another WB disk (Mortal Kombat "TV" series), thought I had something corrupted locally, but this seems less likely now. If anyone is able to help me diagnose this issue, I would be most grateful.
A couple other notes, this log was done with Season 7 Disk 1, of which there are two episodes of the same video content (different subs), I have attempted the process with both to ensure consistency.

Re: Weird Artifacting in Blu-Ray Rip
Perhaps try a different player for your .mkv files? I like MPV (https://mpv.io), but VLC (https://www.videolan.org/vlc/) or Iina (https://iina.io) if you're on a Mac.
It is often the case that when MakeMKV makes a clean rip but the playback glitches the playback software is the culprit.

Wow, I feel like a fool. Thanks for pointing that out, VLC worked perfectly. I was using default windows player for so long without issue that it didn't even occur to me to check on another.
Thank you for the advice!

Re: Weird Artifacting in Blu-Ray Rip
just a side note for this sort of issue if your having issues in plex with bluray playback doing this set the playback settings to auto convert in the menu of the movie and it fixes this issue for plex media playback
thank you to dcoke22 for the "try another player" advice vlc confirmed I had solid rips but the plex player was the culprit for me also found if your haveing voice audio issues where you ether get no sound or just music and background flip the audio settings to the second 5.1 or even headphones odd enough that one some times gives the best voice emphasis in my opinion. cheers and thanks
