No Audiotrack in MKV from certain Blurays

Post by jxw49 »

Makemkv works fine for me with all DVDs, but not with all Blurays: some (!) have no sound.
During creation of the MKVs I don't get any error messages.
By using MKVToolnix I can see that those MKVs without sound don't have an audio track at all, the others do.
Therefore I think it cannot depend on the media player I use (VLC and MPC-HC).
Any ideas?

Do you have a preferred language set? If so, do the BDs have audio tracks in that language?

Thanks, I've tried already English, German, and "no preferred language set".
No difference, no Audio.
B.t.w: Leawo and Anymp4 don't have the issue.
I'm trying to avoid to buy their full versions...

"No preferred language" should have the auto-select grab all available languages.

When you click on the little triangle next to the title in the left window, are the audio tracks in the list?

I solved all my issues by buying "Easefab LosslessCopy". It does exactly what I want: ripping DVDs and Blurays without any problems. Easy to use, it works for me since a few days (very busy!) and I detected no errors up to now. Ripped about 30 Blurays since then.
30 bucks, and it works!

Very strange name for a product that advertises it encodes the video with lossy codecs to make it smaller...

And you never did say what disks you had problems with, so no one can confirm that you ever had a problem, just that you came here to advertise a different product.

You want to add

Code: Select all

und
to your language selection in the MakeMKV advanced settings to avoid the "no audio track" thing.

The default setting is

Code: Select all

-sel:all,+sel:(favlang|nolang|single),-sel:(havemulti|havecore),-sel:mvcvideo,=100:all,-10:favlang
but you want to set it to

Code: Select all

-sel:all,+sel:(favlang|und|nolang|single),-sel:(havemulti|havecore),-sel:mvcvideo,=100:all,-10:favlang
