What about retail. I don't see anyone that starts with 512, they all start with 518, This one starts fine then about 10 min in I get a copyright.

Here is mine:

Title information

This is incorrect. That is the copyright playlist which shows around the 7:30min mark. Correct Playlist for Netflix is:

Name: Overboard
Comment: FPL_MainFeature
Source file name: 00989.mpls
Duration: 1:52:18
Chapters count: 16
Size: 33.4 GB
Segment count: 20

FYI, in case any are wondering about the DVD version of Overboard (all my local Redbox kiosks only have the DVD version)...

Tested this on two separate DVDs:
- There are six "copies" of the movie on the DVD.
- Titles 9 & 10 both fail to rip (with errors).
- Title 11 (1:52:18 running time) rips & plays without errors.
- Titles 12-14 all rip without errors, but all have audio sync issues throughout the movie.

Like I said, this was the same results on two versions of the DVD (from separate boxes). I think the rip errors and audio playback errors are all induced as protection.

I have rented Overboard on Blu-ray. I did not rent from Red Box or Neflix, though. Source File Name 00989.mpls is not one that is available to choose. Do you know the correct one?

If you have Java installed, did you look up towards the top of the list? MakeMKV will sort the titles it thinks are correct towards to top of the list, with "(FPL_MainFeature)" next to one on the first page. It won't be in numeric order.

When I tried using MakeMKV, it said Java had failed.

Due to the fact that I could not find the "Netflix" or "Redbox" file titled 00989.mpls, I tried using the "retail" version a person suggested - which is 00741.mpls. However, that person said "File name" would be "Overboard_t296.mkv." ... My "File name" for 00741.mpls had a "segment map" that did list all 20 segments in the same order as those listed for 00741.mpls with a "File name" of "Overboard_t296.mkv." However, the "File name" for my 00741.mpls was not "Overboard_t296.mkv." My File name for my 00741.mpls was "Overboard_t298.mkv"

Mine looked like this... However, I have NOT confirmed this is the correct one to select. I was hoping someone would know for sure:

Title information
Name: Overboard
Source file name: 00741.mpls
Duration: 1:52:18
Chapters count: 16
Size: 33.4 GB
Segment count: 20

Also, I do have Java installed on my computer; however, I never see things such as "FPL_MainFeature" listed when using MakeMKV. Is there a Preference or some other setting that needs to be used in order to make something such as "FPL_MainFeature" appear?

If the log says "java failed", that means MakeMKV detected a need for Java (playlist obfuscation detected), but it could not execute it.

The standard Java installation SHOULD put the proper values in the registry for MakeMKV to find it.

Assuming you have debug logging enabled, there should be some information about invoking Java in the log. Make sure that java.exe is found at that path, and that the user MakeMKV is running under has permission to execute it.

I have now confirmed that the following information is correct.

I watched both the MakeMKV and the original Blu-ray and the scenes from this match the Blu-ray perfectly:

Title information
Name: Overboard
Source file name: 00741.mpls
Duration: 1:52:18
Chapters count: 16
Size: 33.4 GB
Segment count: 20
Segment map: 518,502,516,515,509,520,514,503,508,511,513,505,519,506,510,512,504,501,507,517

I opened up MakeMKV and I looked at "Preferences." I then clicked on "Protection." Under "Custom Java executable location" it said "C:/Program Files/Java/jre-10.0.1/bin/java.exe" However, when I went to C, and then Program Files, and I clicked on the Java folder, I could not find anything labeled as "jre-10.0.1" Instead, the only folder said "jre-10.0.2" I then made it so MakeMKV "Custom Java executable location" said "C:/Program Files/Java/jre-10.0.2/bin/java.exe" Should this make it so Java now works with my MakeMKV software and allows "MainFeature" to be identified?

With normal Java installs, you can leave the location blank, and MakeMKV will find it.

As long as the custom location points to a working copy of java.exe, the logs should show that it found when needed.

If the JRE is set up properly, AND you insert a Blu-Ray disk with "fake playlist protection" (i.e., something sold by Lionsgate), the log window will show a message similar to:
Using Java runtime from C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_121\bin\java.exe
(this will not appear for non-BD disks or BDs that do not have "fake playlist" detected)

Thank you.

I recently tried to use MKV today on several of my favorites - Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, and Click. ... I was actually surprised that it didn't know what "Click" was at all. ... None of those were from Lionsgate, though.

One thing that drove me crazy today, though, was that the VLC Media Player has even more problems. ... First, when watching Happy Gilmore, the video kept freezing and stuttering in the same spots multiple times. It would only do this when the screen was in Full Screen mode. When the screen was a smaller size, this problem didn't happen. Also, when I watched Happy Gilmore with Windows Media Player or Media Player BE, this did not happen.

So, I tried experimenting to solve the problem. I changed VLC frm having "Automatic" Hardware Acceleration to "DirectX" and "Direct3D" and "Disabled." None of this worked, so I put it back to "Automatic." From that point on, I saw green lines at the top of the screen that previously were not seen! I reset everything, but nothing worked. Green Lines always were seen!

I then googled and I tried setting Video from "Automatic" to "OpenGL for Windows." The checkmark of of "YUV>RGB" was not available to uncheck as some people suggested. This eliminated the Green Lines, and I thought everything was good. I right-clicked on the video and clicked "Play." ... I then chose to watch in Full Screen mode. I thought all was well. But, when I Right-Clicked, the menu would not work! ... I learned there is a problem that when Open GL is selected and VLC is in Full Screen mode, the right-click menu no longer can be seen - although it actually IS there! ... It is invisible and buttons can be selected, but the mouse icon cannot be seen! ... It is truly awful!

If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. ... It happened in Happy Gilmore in MKV format, but it did NOT happen in Avengers Infinity Wars in that same MKV format or Deadpool 2 in MP4 format! ... What the heck! ... Why can the right-click menu not be seen in Full Screen Mode of VLC on some movies, while it can in others???
