I've got a few concert Blurays I'd like to rip and enable their playback over my audio system. I want the 24 bit 96 Khz multichannel audio. In MakeMKV, when having Expert Mode enabled there are four choices for audio, Default, AAC-stereo, FLAC and WDTV. I've got the following questions:
It it possible to rip the high resolution DTS HD MA so that I can play it on my amplifier, which has a decode PCM DAC built in (but none of the DTS or Dolby formats)?
What is the Default mode format?
If I choose FLAC are there any disadvantages to it?
Will it automatically save as multichannel if the source is multichannel?
I'm using a Windows PC.
DTS HD Master Audio to LPCM to Flac?
Re: DTS HD Master Audio to LPCM to Flac?
I think I found part of the answer. In Expert Mode, clicking on the track in the left hand menu, as per this description http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16405, I get part of the answer. I can now see that the track is by default ripped as DTS Surround 5.1.
This leads to a follow up questions. DTS HD-MA is available, but the default doesn't choose this track, it has to be manually chosen. Does anyone know what this is the case?
I would think it chose the highest resolution as per default.
