We bought a zoo

Post by DanaK4LK »

AACS v20, BD+ 2012.2.

I am able to rip all the supplements, but the movie rip fails quickly (failed to save title 0).

I am using a Pioneer BDR-XD04 with firmware 1.1 on a MacBook Air running 10.7.3.

Haven't any problems with other disks. Downloaded the dsall.svq.

Thanks

Hi!

This is a brand new 20th Century Fox release. Very likely a new version of "BD+". Click on the link to submit the SVQ...

I think I figured it out from http://www.makemkv.com/svq/

I'll have it create the BD+ dump and send it later.

Thanks Mike,

The rip almost finishes, but I get a MEDIUM ERROR on 00500.m2ts at offset 23561238528

Makes me wonder if the disk is defective. Guess I'll try watching the movie in my home theater.

Now that the SVQ has been updated, try cleaning the disc and re-ripping...

Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00500.m2ts' at offset '23521062912' :(

This disk is a replacement. The first copy wasn't reporting media errors. I have the Pioneer BDR-XD04 v1.10 on a MacBook Pro running 10.7.3. Haven't had any problems ripping any other title.

Someone will have to correct me if I'm wrong, but that usually means an error with the disc itself (scratch, smudge, bad pressing) or a drive not working properly.

Occasionally I will get a blu-ray that just doesn't like my drive. I had to go through 4 box sets of HBO's Rome before I found a pressing that played well with my player. It was a major PITA. I don't know if that's what's happening here.

Your home theatre isn't trying to make a bit by bit copy the way makemkv is.

Still having issues with this disk. I've tried downloading the dsall.svq with no luck.

Code: Select all

MakeMKV v1.7.4 linux(x64-release) started
Using direct disc access mode
Evaluation version, 30 day(s) out of 30 remaining
Downloading latest SVQ(s) to /home/carl/.MakeMKV ...
Loaded 33 SVQ file(s)
Processing BD+ code, please be patient - this may take up to few minutes
Processing BD+ code using generic SVQ from builtin/00000.svq
Failed to process BD+ code using generic SVQ from builtin/00000.svq
Saved BD+ dump file as /home/carl/.MakeMKV/dump_We_Bought_A_Zoo_9257E89451F74A86.tgz
Failed to process BD+ code, please check http://www.makemkv.com/svq/ for updated program and SVQ files
Failed to open disc
I see the line that says it's processing using the generic SVQ and wonder if that's right and that it should be using the Disc Specific SVQ in the dsall.svq file.

Any ideas?
