„No Disc inserted“ shutter island (DE)

Hi there!

I‘m trying to rip the german BD of shutter island. MakeMKV fails to read the disc. I got it used, but the disc seems immaculate and has no damages. I got another one anyway, maybe the disc was defective. I still have the exact same problem. No matter what MakeMKV says „no disc“. All my other movies ripped just fine, normal and UHD.

My Setup:
Verbatim 43888 with LG BU40N, flashed to patched 1.0 (hat problems with 1.3 for UHD)
Windows 10

Is there any way to make it read the disc or am I just out for luck?

May not help for the specific case but yesterday I ripped the Bluray shutter Island (German Kaufversion) but using a pioneer drive. It worked fine, no problems.

You can try gently cleaning the disc. I often have to clean even brand-new discs to get them to work properly.

You can also try cleaning the optics of your drive. Use a Q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the laser optics. Dry with a clean microfiber cloth. Don't let it air dry. Do this twice.
